Emma's portrait came about after a client responded to an advertisement I had placed in my Staten Island Real Estate Properties Magazine. She commissioned the painting as a special gift for a longtime associate, providing a photograph of Emma for me to work from.
I was immediately drawn to Emma's beautiful golden eyes, distinctive markings, and magnificent long fur. Pastel was especially suited to capturing the softness and texture of her luxurious coat. I enjoyed building layers of warm browns, creams, and subtle touches of cooler color, using individual strokes to suggest the direction and movement of her fur.
My client was delighted with the finished portrait, and I was especially touched when the recipient sent me a personal thank-you along with a photograph of Emma's portrait proudly displayed on her wall. Knowing that my artwork had become a treasured gift made this commission particularly rewarding.
